For the past year or so, Ive enjoyed reading my stories to small groups of 15 to 30 people. It started out with my friends inviting a bunch of people to dinner or brunch, and me reading some of my stories and selling some of my books. After that, it became like Tupperware – somebody would go to a reading and decide that she was having such a good time, that she should do it, too. Ive been in some wonderful homes and Ive met some terrific people this way. What a neat deal for me. And everybody else seemed to have a good time, too.
Except that time when I read Rose the Moon at the Madsen-Wessel party. Afterward, nobody spoke. They looked stunned - like they would like to say something, but they didnt want to talk about what I just read. (Go ahead and read it and let me know what you think of it.) Anyway, a slight young man with broad shoulders and a mail-order pair of stretch leather pants, got up to get himself a drink, and everybody seemed to relax a little.
If youre up to that kind of evening, email me and well arrange something.
Recordings of some of my stories are now available on cd for $10 each (with a self-addressed postage-paid padded envelope) or $12.00 to cover the cost of the cd plus packaging and postage. To order a copy, send me an email.
